Blog post due by midnight -- 300 words. Based on the feedback you received on your first draft, what things are you working on and what rehearsal techniques have you tried in order to improve your performance?
Most feedback from my classmates only consisted of a few sentences which didn't really help me. A lot of the time I only got one or two things to improve on, or general things that both Aaron and I could work on, such as the piece was almost the proper length. The main problem in the performance was the I laughed at one point because of a mistake Aaron and I both made. As a class, we also agreed that my portion of the monologue should be moved. Overall, I think that the feedback wasn't really helpful because there was a lot that they gave as plan or average, so I don't really know what I should be doing to improve it. I think that I do have some improvement to make, such as changing that monologue and working on staying more in character even when there is a mistake in the performance. In order to fix these things I have been looking through Amanda’s monologue to add that in and learning the lines to that portion. I also have been working on knowing all of my lines more and thinking about what I want to say to the IB and do some blocking and reacting to situations. I also have been watching other versions of the scene in order to see how some people portrayed Amanda. This shows me different ways to come at the role and make my own version of the character and performance to make it unique. I also like watching the scene because I like to get inspiration for blocking and tones. I would have liked to have more suggestions and specific comments in my reviews but on the other side it allows me to come up with also of my own ideas and finding where I think I need to change things in rather than being told. But, I will say that this doesn't help me know where the audience sees problems not just my point of view from the stage.
